Progress Notebook
Our goal is to preserve the Manor House for future generations and to stay ahead of damage and/or destruction.
The work this past year took steps toward this goal by repair and replacement of key items including: gutters, doors, rotted wood in addition to repairs on masonry.
We also performed cosmetic work such as painting the stucco, rear porch decking, and caulking areas that will eventually require the wood to be replaced.
This has gone a long way to improve the temporary appearance of the building. The next critical items to address are the replacement of the stucco and rehab of the stone garden room.
The preservation effort is moving forward. We are also keeping on eye of portions of the house that may require a detour in the plans. For example, if the roof is damaged or starts to leak, stopping damage from water would take priority.
The house is beginning to look like it's former self, but beauty is skin deep and there is more to do. We are still seeking funds.
We thank everyone for their support to renew this historic treasure.
Please check back for more updates. And come out and enjoy our concerts on the Manor House lawn.
You'll help to preserve the Manor House by sitting on your grass.
